Facility Protection Policy, Exceptions & Enforcement

All Contractors/Service Providers must use the utmost care to protect all surfaces in The Moscone Center and its equipment from damage.

  • Padding
  • Visqueen
  • Plywood or Masonite
  • Rubber bumpers
  • Use of non-marking tires and booties
  • Use of non-marring products
  • Proper supervision
Protection of Facility Surfaces and Equipment

The following policies, regulations, and limitations apply to all ceilings, walls (including both painted and fabric walls, and built-in monitors), glass surfaces (including windows, mirrors, and interior glass), permanently carpeted areas (including permanent walk-off carpet in lobbies), concrete and terrazzo flooring, facility signage and fixtures, and any facility equipment belonging to The Moscone Center.

This includes all facility surfaces, signage/fixtures, and equipment in halls, lobbies, swing spaces, ballrooms, corridors, restrooms, meeting rooms and back of house spaces. Responsibility for protecting the above mentioned items/areas rests solely with the Contractor or other Service Provider responsible for performing work in the facility.

Exceptions to Facility Protection Policy

Exceptions to any of these policies must be granted in writing in advance by ASM. No exceptions will be granted after the fact, and immediate removal of non-approved materials will be required.

Enforcement of Facility Protection Policy

Moscone Center staff will provide initial enforcement of the above regulations. If it becomes apparent that regulations are not being followed immediately upon receipt of these policies, additional staff will be scheduled, at the Contractor’s expense, all with the goal of minimizing damage to the facility and repair expenses for contractors.
